Regardless of whether you are moving into an apartment, condo or townhouse, you will generally need to hook up some utilities. In most apartments and townhome communities, you will be required to pay for electric power and, in some, water and / or gas. Generally, those that are "all bills paid" are either older apartment communities or corporate apartments. "All bills paid" apartments pay for basic utilities such as electricity and water. A corporate apartment may provide everything including telephone and furniture. 

Area utilities have certain requirements for establishing service, including address of former provider, employment information, driver's license number, Social Security number and phone numbers. Residence within the City of Austin service area, receive a consolidated, monthly billing summary, itemizing their use of each service.

Private companies handle these services outside the city. Ask your leasing agent or Real Estate Agent for information about the utility companies servicing your location.
